Fall Community Clean-up – Volunteers Needed!

We are less than two weeks away from our fall clean-up event, on October 22nd. Currently, we have less than 6 volunteers confirmed. Please RSVP (link below) as soon as possible so we have an idea of how many folks will be at the event!

Below is our list of items we want to tackle during the event. We are always looking for items to be added, or feedback on the items already on the list. Depending on the number of volunteers that show up on the 22nd, some items might have to be removed. Items that are removed, we will have to hire outside contractors complete at considerable expense. Our desire is to do as many of these as possible as a community in order to continue to keep dues low and use our funds for more enjoyable activities and improvements.

Fall Clean-up Items:

  • Pick up litter from neighborhood streets, common areas, greenbelt
  • Remove berry vines and branches suffocating native trees/plants.
  • Replace rotten playground chip retaining boards
  • Plant 22 greenbelt replacement trees as required by the City of Bothell— Need volunteers to deliver to greenbelt areas and plant.
  • Clear weeds/vines from around new plants at front entrance
  • Spread bark around new plants at entrance to keep weeds out
  • Prune landscape trees
  • Clean drainage ditch along 23rd Ave.

Here are the approximate costs to pay to have the work done:

  • 22 trees bought, delivered and planted: $2,400
  • Replace playground boards: $1,000
  • Pruning trees not included in landscaping contract: $250
  • Spread bark around front entrance plants: $450
  • Clean drainage ditch along 23rd: $300
  • Remove berry vines $300-600

We hope to hear from you all (RSVP) so we can plan accordingly!

Thank you,

Chestnut Glen HOA Board

Litter in our neighborhood

Who do we thank for piling up the garbage and removing it this morning?

Who do we need to educate about picking up their own trash?

Block Watch Update:
Our tire swing playground equipment has sustained some mild damage.  We are uncertain if it is from normal wear and tear or due to misuse.  We will make the repair shortly.  Please remind your children the equipment is meant for residents 12 years and younger.  The equipment can not safely accommodate older children.

Vehicle Break In

E-mail from homeowner:

I live on 210th and yesterday morning, at 7am as I walked out of my house, I stumbled upon a thief in my suburban stealing its contents. There was a small blue Kia or Hyundai directly behind the suburban moving very slowly down the street and the startled thief bolted out of the driver’s compartment, arms full, ran down the street and jumped in the small blue car between Tom and Stella’s house. Fortunately I got a good look at the thief – blond female, 19 to 25, about 5’ 5”, a little chunky, gray sweats and a black hooded sweatshirt. More fortunately, in her haste, her cell phone fell out of where ever she had it and was sitting in the driveway a couple feet from the open driver’s door. By noon the Bothell Police called me in with a photo line up to ID her, meaning the registered owner of the phone was a blond female with a criminal record and police photos.

Please alert our homeowners to both the criminal and the vehicle and call the police immediately if they see either anywhere around our neighborhood. I have no idea who was driving the car but a little investigation with her cell phone prior to the police arriving indicated she runs with an Asian guy from the Casino Rd. area in Everett.
